  • Interpret job instructions to identify work requirements
  • Identify all required tools, how to operate them and the safety implications of doing so
  • Identify materials required by the job instructions and the safety implications of handling and installing them
  • Read manufacturer instructions for materials handled and identify potential hazards
  • Identify and analyse the work area and potential hazards in it
  • Access and analyse information about safety systems and identify hazards adequately mitigated by workplace procedures
  • Recognise and record mitigated hazards and their likely impacts according to workplace procedures
  • Accurately estimate the likelihood the hazard will cause harm
  • Determine the consequences of the harm occurring
  • Determine the level of risk, based on the identified likelihood and consequences

Assessment Tasks
